Thermography is a safe effective screen for cancer. Like the MRI, it is a test which utilizes energy to detect disease. In the case of thermography, one looks for heat in a specific organ. If heat is present, that means that cells are rapidly dividing as is the case with cancer. Therefore this screen picks up cancer earlier and more efficiently with less side effects than routine radiography. Breast thermograms are performed at the spa every other month.
